Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Anshika Agarwal — founder of Muussaafirr.
Travel has always been woven into who I am. Growing up, my family shared a quiet but deep curiosity for new places, unfamiliar roads, and the kind of moments that don’t fit neatly into photographs. Some of my earliest memories are road trips, carefully planned itineraries, and the particular excitement of arriving somewhere you’ve never been before.
Naturally, I became the family’s planner — the one researching destinations at midnight, building day-by-day itineraries, and hunting for the experience that would make the trip feel like ours. What started as a responsibility became a passion I didn’t fully understand until much later.
That passion deepened during my Master’s at Columbia University in New York City — a place that is, in many ways, the whole world compressed into one island. Living there changed how I experienced movement, people, and belonging. It made me restless in the best possible way.
I began traveling extensively — often solo. Across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America. Vibrant cities and quiet coastlines. Mountain roads and luxury stays. Cultural deep-dives and completely unplanned afternoons. Every journey gave me something that stayed long after I came home — a perspective, an emotion, a small shift in how I understood the world.
How Travel Shaped Muussaafirr
Solo travel taught me confidence, adaptability, and a genuine comfort with uncertainty. But it also revealed something I couldn’t unsee — particularly, about travel in India.
Unlike destinations where independent travel feels seamlessly supported, travel here runs on something deeper: trusted recommendations, local knowledge, a sense of safety, and the feeling that someone who genuinely understands the place has thought about your journey before you arrive.
People aren’t simply looking for destinations. They are looking for experience they can trust.
Experiences that feel intentional. Immersive. Designed around them — not around a generic traveller who could be anyone.
That realization stayed with me for long time. And slowly, it became the seed of Muussaafirr.
