Dudhwa National Park Safari — Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh
Dense sal forests, open grasslands, and one of India’s highest tiger densities — Dudhwa rewards those who make the effort to get here.
Description:
Dudhwa National Park sits in the Terai arc of northern Uttar Pradesh — a vast, largely undiscovered wilderness on the Nepal border that supports tigers, one-horned rhinos, leopards, elephants, swamp deer, and over 400 species of birds.
Unlike the crowded circuits of Ranthambore or Corbett, Dudhwa sees a fraction of the tourist footfall — which means quieter forest roads, more intimate wildlife encounters, and an experience that still feels genuinely wild.
Elephant safaris are also available inside the park on a first come first served basis — an extraordinary way to move through the forest if you’re lucky enough to get a slot.
This is not a zoo. This is the forest on its own terms.
