Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary sits deep in the Terai arc of northern Uttar Pradesh, on the India-Nepal border. Part of the larger Dudhwa Tiger Reserve complex, it protects one of the most extraordinary stretches of riverine forest and wetland in the country.
This jeep safari takes you through the sal forests and open grasslands of Katarniaghat — tiger country, leopard country, swamp deer territory — on a safari that feels like the wild was always supposed to feel.
Unlike the more famous reserves, Katarniaghat offers an experience that is intimate, unhurried, and completely immersive. This is one of India’s finest wildlife destinations — and one of its least discovered.
